The Dominican Sisters of Mary

We, the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, were canonically established in 1997 in response to Pope St. John Paul II’s call for a New Evangelization.  We seek to share God’s message of faith and the joy of religious life with the modern world through various outreaches including education, vocations, and culture.

Beginning with four foundresses, our community has now grown to over 150 Sisters with an average age of 33.  Our Motherhouse is located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2019, we opened the first phase of a new large convent named “Our Lady of Guadalupe Priory” in Georgetown, Texas.  This new priory was constructed to accommodate the miraculous explosion of vocations that God has generously sent. It will ultimately hold up to 115 new Sisters, adding to the living space of our existing Motherhouse and other smaller convents.

As Dominicans, our apostolate is preaching and teaching, with prayer and contemplation at the very center of all we do. Starting each day with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and a renewal of our Marian consecration, we go forth to teach in classrooms from preschool through college all over the United States. In addition to teaching in 14 K-8 schools, 14 high schools and 3 universities, our Sisters also serve as librarians at the Pontifical North American College in Rome and in the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter in Houston, Texas.
